Index of Refraction
The index of refraction (n) of a material is the ratio of
the speed of light (c) in a vacuum to the speed of light
in the material (v).
SNELL’S LAW
When light travels from a material with one index of
refraction to a material with a different index of refraction,
the angle of incidence is related to the angle of refraction by:
n 1 sin θ 1 = n 2 sin θ 2
