Energy Technology Research Center



         Introduction

      The  "Energy  Technology  Research  Center"  integrates  human  and  laboratory
      resources in electrical, chemical, mechanical and electronic areas, and engages
      researches  on  smart  grid,  monitoring  system  integration,  automated  demand
      response  and  control,  power  conversion,  battery,  renewable  energy,  IoT,  big
      data,  microgrids  and  other  topics. As  a  result,  all  relevant  laboratories  have
      been  successfully  integrated  and  upgraded  to  the  level  of  a  research  center.
      After  more  than  10  years  of  hard  work,  the  center  currently  has  1  assistant
      researcher, 10 full-time assistants, 6 doctoral students, 7 graduate students, and
      15 on-job graduate students. It mainly deals with research projects of Taipower,
      the  Ministry  of  Science  and  Technology,  the  Energy  Bureau,  the  county
      governments, and large private enterprises. The research funding is about 20-25
      million  one  year.  The  center  has  cultivated  hundreds  of  PhD/Master  degree
      research talents. The excellent performance of the center makes it win the only
      A-level award over the whole school for 5 consecutive years. Since 2011, the
      center began to adopt project management in the organization to improve the
      efficiency of project execution. The organization structure is as follows:

       ●Automatic meter reading interface module and software development
       ●Development of Advanced Meter Reading Infrastructure (AMI) MDMS
       ●Smart grid component development, prediction and optimization technology
       ●Research on power equipment fault diagnosis technology
       ●Research on green energy generation / energy storage system technology
       ●Development of transmission line safety early warning system
       ●Research and development of rail power system monitoring technology and operation strategy
       ●Research on feeder automation optimization technology
       ●Technology development of electric vehicle motor controller
       ●WEB BASED information platform technology development
       ●Smart manufacturing, smart electricity and big data service technology development
