 What do we read in Romans 8:26 about the Holy Spirit and
prayer?

 Make sure again that you know what “intercede” means?

 Why, according to Romans 8:26-27, is it necessary for the
Holy Spirit to intercede for us?

 Let us look at the list of reasons given:
o We are weak – so He helps us in our weakness;
o Why are we weak? For we do not know how to
pray as we should;
o We do not always know what the will of God is.

 One of the meanings for the word “intercede” is “to come
in line with.” How would you apply this meaning to the
interceding work of the Holy Spirit on our behalf?

 How does the Holy Spirit help us in our ignorance of God’s
revealed will? Read John 14:25-26, John 15:26, and John 16:13.
