5.4 THE GROANINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - ITS EFFECTIVENESS
It is not fruitless. God, who read the intentions of our hearts WILL
know the intentions of His own Spirit, right? The Spirit, who dwells
in our hearts!
It emphasizes the truth that God is omniscient! This passage
strengthens the same truth about God found in other passages in
Scripture.

5.5 TWO INTERCESSORS
Romans 8 teaches that believers have two intercessors: The Holy
Spirit and Christ. Christ performs His intercessory work in heaven
(Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2:1). The Holy Spirit does it on
earth. Christ’s intercession takes place outside of us, the Holy
Spirit’s inside of us, in our hearts. Christ prays that the merits of His
redemptive work may be fully applied to those who trust in Him. The
Holy Spirit prays that the deeply hidden needs of our hearts, (needs
we do not always recognize), may very well be in line with God’s will
and purposes for us.

This is how A.W Pink puts it this way: “If it be asked, Why has God
provided two Intercessors for His people, the answer is: To bridge the
entire gulf between Him and us. One toe represent God to us, the
Other to represent us before God. The One to prompt our prayers, the
Other to present them to the Father. The One to ask blessings for us,
the Other to convey blessings unto us.”
Is there any other place where we know or recognize our
weaknesses better than in our prayer-life?
