9.8 Prayer and the Consummation

The answering of our prayers is directly linked to the
consummation of all things. True prayer is focused on the end
because the true prayer live with a clear view of the end of all
things. W.H. Velema said, “Because the church knows about the
                                          7
end, we pray towards the end.”

Prayer in heaven and on earth

                  Read Revelation 6:9

 Who were under the altar?
 What were they praying for?
 What was the answer they received?

                                     DIGGING DEEPER

This prayer of the martyrs under the altar is a cry for the final
establishment of God’s final justice and rule on this earth. They are
told that the answering of their prayers will happen at the final
              consummation of all things.

The consummation of all things will take place as an answer to the
prayer of the church militant, the church martyred! But it is not
only the prayer of the martyred church because just following the
answer to the martyrs under the altar, John also tells us what
happens with the prayers of the saints, the believers on earth!

An angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and
much incense was given to him, that he might add it to the prayers
of all the saints upon the golden altar. (Rev. 8:3) as he brings it
              before the throne of God.
