 What are the miracles a sign of? Luke 17:20,21 – When He says
the kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed the
word for observed with signs is one word usually used by
medical writers to denote medical observation of a disease
(paratereseos). (see Luke 11:20)

 Does God answer indeed?

 Read 2 Cor 12:7-9; Mark 5:18-20 and Matt 26:36-46.

 Why are these prayers not answered?
 How was Jesus’s prayer in Gethsemane eventually answered?

DIGGING DEEPER

True disciples of Jesus do not seek the answering of their prayers
in the fulfillment of their own desires, but in the understating of
God’s will and purpose for their lives and the giving themselves up
for that purpose. Not our desires, but the Kingdom of God
determine the answering of our prayers.

Application

a. Does God still hear/answer in miraculous ways today?
b. Do not you think we sometimes pray for miracles because we
are impatient to wait on God’s answer?
c. When is it difficult to acknowledge the kingship of Jesus in
your life?
