CLINICAL RESEARCH
One of the greatest advantages for our patients and our practice is
the opportunity to benef t from ongoing medical research through
clinical trials. Clinical trials are studies that evaluate the ef ectiveness
of drugs or treatment routines. Participants may receive promising
new treatments, and if the trial is successful, participants are the
f rst to benef t.
In association with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, one of
the largest and most respected clinical trial organizations in the
United States, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has
participated for many years in numerous clinical research studies
involving investigational drugs, treatment methods and therapy
combinations. FCS physicians and staf are extremely proud of
their endeavors to bring the latest clinical studies and results of
research to our patients in the search for better cancer treatment
and, eventually, more cures.
Patients seeking the most advanced cancer care available no longer
have to travel to large academic institutions. With many active
trials underway, FCS is investigating new treatments for all types
of cancer, including breast, lung, melanoma, multiple myeloma,
ovarian and prostate cancers.
Rapid advances in targeted therapies and molecular biology are
leading to new drug innovations that are revolutionizing the f eld of
oncology. T rough its dedication to working on ground-breaking
research, FCS is committed to being a part of these discoveries.
More detailed information related to FCS’ clinical trails can be
found on the web at FLCancer.com/ClinicalTrials.
