GENERAL SECRETARY'S REPORT
At the very outset, I on behalf of the Executive Committee of Andhra Association,
Jaipur (AAJ), wish you all very happy and prosperous “SREE VIKARI NAMA
SAMVATSARAM”. May Lord Venkateswara bless all of us with good health, wealth, happiness
and prosperity.
I wish to mention that our aim is to ensure that Telugu fraternity living in and around Jaipur
should not miss their culture, their food, their language and never miss their feeling of
VASUDHAIKA KUTUMBAM. With this view, we have conducted several programs covering
major festivals and other cultural event which helped in creating a homely “Telugu”
atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
Also, as a part of our effort to showcase the talents and activities of Telugu fraternity, and also to show case the
cultural and social activities of AAJ we are coming out with the Telugu Vaani Magazine.
I would like to take this opportunity to present the details of the important social and cultural activities
undertaken by the ANDHRA ASSOCIATION, JAIPUR during 2018-19..
• We had celebrated VILAMBI NAMA SAMVATSARA Ugadi 2018 at Rotary club with all the
enthusiasm. Starting with Vishnu sahasranama prayanam, Panchanga Sravanam followed by
cultural programs like lively dance performance Smt. Bipasha Maitra, Dr. A. Neelma, Miss Bhavya,
Miss Priancy, very melodious songs by Sri K.V.S. Madhava Rao garu and his wife Smt. K. Padmaja garu,
Smt. P. Padmaja Garu, Miss C.V. Aparoopa were the highlights of the program. Of course, the ever
tasteful Ugadi Pacchhadi and Telugu specialties were served during the celebrations.
• For the first time, we had organized a senior citizens meet on 29.7.18 in which not only a good
number of our senior members of the association participated enthusiastically but also a large
number of our members joined in the program to felicitate and pay respect to these senior
members and to listen their very interesting and wise words of these experienced and learned and
respected members

• 26 October was also celebrated as Raksha bandhan program at the same time some of our
members performed Gayatri Matra japam and Samuhika Yegnopaveetha Dharanam program at
DBS Ganesh Temple premises.
• Another major celebration being “Ganapathi Utsavam / Vinayaka Chaviti” again at DBS Ganesh
Temple Premises from 13.9.18 to 15.9.18 under the guidance of Sri Durga Prasad Garu and Sri SPL
Murthy garu. We have celebrated it for 3 days with daily Morning & Evening Pooja and Mangala

Aarati. On 16 Sept. 2018. Grand Maha Ganapathi Homam was performed under the guidance of
Sri K. Srinivasa Guru Murthy Garu, of Hyderabad and the evening program ended with Ganesh
Nimajjanam at lake near Amer fort.
• Yet another important program was that of KARTHIKA VANA BHOJANAM (Picnic). This is the
association's most prestigious and most awaited program for Telugu fraternity. This was organized
at a very beautiful/serene farm house viz.,“RATHORE FARM HOUSE”. The venue was much alike the
natural environments befitting the Kartika month with all greenery especially the Amla Trees. The
program started with “Deeparadhana”, “Puja/Vishnu Sahasranamam Parayanam” under the
auspicious Amla tree. This was followed by nice breakfast spread out with authentic Telugu items.
The program was continued with songs, dances, games and competitions which reminded of the
Telugu flavors and celebrations as authentic as it could get. This ensured everybody had their best
time spent. The highlight of the Vana Bhojanam program was the authentic Telugu lunch for which I
would like specially thank and appreciate our Treasurer Sri K. Satya Narayana Garu for arranging
cooks from Vijayawada and treating all the Telugu fraternity with mouth-watering dishes. On behalf
of AAJ I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to Col. Shersingh Rathore Ji for giving his
farmhouse for our use on that whole day free of cost.
• We have entered into Tie up with M/s Shalby Hospital, M/s Manipal Hospital etc for Privilege
cards/special concession for all our members. We have also participated and contributed with a
local and south Indian associations/temple/organization in their program like Durga Pooja,
