Customs ports in the Sultanate of Oman 2022

Qat drug

Al-Maziunah customs department port has seized a number of
smuggling quantities of qat, which were in the possession of
travelers who had hidden it among their personal luggage.The
total amount of qat seizures during the year 2022 at various exit
ports was 14,67 kilograms.

Prohibited and restricted cigarettes

North Al Batinah Customs department thwarts a number of
operations to smuggle large quantities of banned and restricted
cigarettes at both Al Wajaja and Khatmat Milaha ports, which
were hidden in cavities and separate parts of vehicles, in order to
evade paying taxes and permit procedures.The total amount of
prohibited and restricted cigarettes seizures during the year 2022
at various exit-ports was 80903600 cigarettes, 5052.4 kilograms
and 6926 of different types.

Electronic cigarettes

Customs men at the Hatta Customs Department were able to
thwart a smuggling operation of more than 1,000 electronic
cigarettes. The total amount of electronic cigarette seizures
during 2022 at the various ports amounted to 47,163 cigarettes,
and the total amount of this types of cigarettes’ seizures during
the year 2022 at various exit ports was 47163 cigarettes.
