Marijuana drug

Customs officials at both the Muscat International Airport
Customs Department and the Rubia alkhali Customs Department
managed to seize two persons in possession of quantities of
marijuana, which they deliberately concealed in professional ways
among their personal luggage, the total amount of marijuana
seizures during the year 2022 at various exit-ports was 1,5965
kilograms.

Alcoholic beverages

The Investigation and Risk Assessment Department was able to
raid a number of sites run by expatriate workers in the states of
Seeb, Barka, Al Musana and Al Suwaiq, and seized large quantities
of alcoholic beverages that were tightly hidden in warehouses and
farms. The total amount of alcoholic drinks seizures during the
year 2022 at various exit-ports was 187,859 kilograms.

Psychotropic effects

The Customs Department of Muscat International Airport
thwarted a number of operations to bring in psychotropic
substances, most notably tramadol, clonazepam, and diazepam
tablets. The seizure took place during inspections of passengers›
personal luggage.The total amount of psychotropic effects
seizures during the year 2022 at various exit-ports was 174,935
kilograms.
