This is achieved through a sustained partnership
with the Singapore Prison Service, whose leaders
and officers have been admirably committed to our
mission. They have been an inspiration to the NYAA
‘inmate’ participants as well as to the programme
facilitators.
The NYAA Programme helped many inmates
successfully re-integrate into society after their release.
Several of them have gone on to help motivate other
inmates and volunteer with NYAA. They have become
effective role models.
The Singapore Prison Service and NYAA jointly Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and
Sports and Second Minister for Information, Communications and the
celebrated 20 years of partnership in 2020 with a Arts, gracing the NYAA Ceremony at Kaki Bukit Prison School in 2007.
