Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre is my favourite weekend
spot. The moment I step in, the air is filled with the
mouth-watering smell of sizzling food and freshly
brewed coffee. People from all walks of life gather there,
laughing, chatting, and enjoying good food together.

Out of all the colourful stalls, one always catches my eye:
            Twenty 6 Gusto House.

It is not a big or fancy place, but it serves something truly
unforgettable: the charcoal burger. With soft black buns,
crunchy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, grilled chicken, melted
cheese, and creamy mayonnaise, it is a feast for the
senses. The secret? A touch of truffle that makes every
            bite smell and taste amazing.

For a long time, I wondered why the delicious burger
was not being served in a high-end restaurant. One day, Hawker culture is the heartbeat of Singapore. It teaches
I decided to ask. I gathered my courage and spoke to us to be grateful, to work hard, and to find joy in simple
Perlin, the kind auntie behind the counter. things, just like a charcoal burger made with care.

She smiled and told me that being a hawker gave her
freedom and joy. “We want our food to be affordable for
everyone,” she said. It was her dream.
“I thought it was just a burger, but I tasted
I was surprised to learn how hard she had worked to a dream. Hawker food isn’t only delicious
build the stall and how proud she was of her food. Then — it’s filled with passion, pride, and stories
she said something that stayed with me: “Never give up worth remembering.”
            on pursuing your dream.”

That day, I left with more than just a full stomach. I went Chong Kai Wen
with a whole heart. P5 Perseverance
                                                                                       Endeavour Primary School
I realised that hawker food is not just food. It is made
            with dreams, dedication, and love.
