To some, if not all Singaporeans, hawker centres are the
heartbeat of any neighbourhood. In fact, they dot our
nation. These centres offer unique culinary experiences
that stand out compared to restaurants in other
countries. One special example is the East Coast Lagoon
Food Centre, which is in a large park, making it a perfect
ending to kick off your exercise.
As visitors approach the food centre, they are greeted
by the enticing aromas of spices and grilled meats.
Inside, you will be spoilt for choice, but the stall called
Ahamad Spring Satay and BBQ Chicken Wings is the
best in my opinion. It offers a wide range of meats,
including marinated chicken and beef satay, as well as
grilled prawns. If you thought that was all, think again!
Accompanying these dishes are ketupats, a traditional
malay rice cake, and a rich peanut sauce, which adds
even more flavour to the satay!
