Do you know what binds us Singaporeans together?
Hawker centres! Let me tell you about my experience
            there.

I have been going to this one hawker centre near my
home — it is located just 10 minutes away. It is called
Kopitiam Square, and I love eating the mala there!
When you walk up to the stall, it feels like a food haven.
Although there is a wide array of dishes, the mala always
stands out! The hawker is a sweet, kind soul who is
always prepared to make the most delicious mala.

With a generous hand, the hawker prepares the food
swiftly. One whiff of that mala and your mouth will be
watering! The spice lingers on your tongue, melting in
your mouth like cotton candy. It is always best to eat it
as soon as you get it — it tastes even better when eaten love for food. Any hawker centre feels like heaven with
immediately. Once, my sister followed me there to try all the delicious dishes to choose from. Hawkers are
the best-tasting Mala ever. It was like culinary magic! always sweet and caring, and they try their best to serve
Hawkers are truly our unsung heroes, if you think about us our food as quickly as possible! What a rare gem our

I rarely eat there, but when I do, mala awaits my presence.
The way to my heart is always through my stomach. I also
tried a bubble tea store there back in 2022. My friend’s “One bite of mala and I knew — hawker
father worked there and invited my sister and me the centres aren’t just about food, they’re where

from the popping boba pearls and the rich, creamy taste
of the milk tea. It was such a shame the store had to
close — it used to be my favourite. Juliana Jean Calingasan Cher
