Prayers For The Fear of
                     Family Pandemics

                     Amari Murray, Landmark High School

It’s the scariest thing a person could ever go
through. She heard that her father’s best friend
had died when he was 36, He got the virus and
already had a low immune system.

This virus is taking over me and my kids with
fear. On nice days I take them out and let them
do chalk on the ground, bubbles, and we have
kites. On rainy days they draw or play on their
tablets. But they’re scared too. It’s really hard
to explain to two and four year olds that this is
                   something that is killing people.

Having children is what showed me how to
appreciate my life. It is what taught me how to
share. How to sacrifice, give up things I wanted.
How to cherish moments and more importantly-
a wide lit up smile- I finally felt loved.

My fear of this pandemic continues on. It’s the
scariest thing in life. I just feel like it’s wiping
the world out, like this is what’s going to kill the
world and this makes me so sad.

I pray everyday, not just for me but for all, that
there is a cure for this horrible pandemic. I just
want them to find a cure. I feel like if we can
wash our hands with soap and water to get rid of
a virus, they can find a cure!
