SPLS 104 ASSESMENT TASK 1 SEAN ROGERS
The governance structure for a for-profit organization consists of a board of directors lead by a
chairman, this board of directors have a large amount of influence and control on decision making and
the direction in which the organization goes. (Gomez, 2007)
A local
example
of an NPO would be any form of club or amateur sport. Club rugby in Cape Town that falls under the city
of Cape Town council has a similar reporting structure to that of traditional sporting NPOs. A club like
Peninsula RFC a local rugby club which falls under the Western province Rugby Football Union
federation will have the same reporting structure as the one depicted below ,with all committee
members elected on a voluntary basis.
