SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES
Sheri Norris, MS, SPHR
Sheri is currently the director of Human Resources for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC). In this role she oversees all human capital functions including talent acquisition and engagement, compensation and benefits, payroll, employee safety, employee development, labor relations, and equal employment opportunity. Prior to the PTC, she served as the director of Human Resources for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Sheri holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a Master
of Science in human resource development, and has 22 years of work expertise in the HR field.
Michael Pack
Mike worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation from 1998 to 2015, including District 5-0, Central Office, and District 6-0. He transferred to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in 2015, as a senior traffic operations project manager and was promoted to the position he currently holds as manager of Incident Management and Traffic Operations. His experience includes ITS device and systems deployments, signals, TOC systems and operations, TSMO planning, and incident and emergency management. Mike is a 1997 graduate of Penn State University - Harrisburg and is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Katherine Peters
Katherine joined the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 2016, as the director for the Bureau of Equal Opportunity. She oversees the administration of federal and state Civil Rights and Affirmative Action programs specific to the transportation industry. In her time at PennDOT, she has project-managed its first disparity study and has been developing initiatives to enhance workforce diversity, inclusion, and equity for external customers and stakeholders.
Ben Pierce
Ben has more than 30 years of experience as a transportation technologist. He specializes in technologies that improve mobility, reduce congestion, and improve the environment, such as Connected and Automotive Vehicles and Electric Vehicles.
