About the Author: Dr. Augusto Legasto, Jr. (Ph.D. and M.Phil. in
Management Sciences –
Columbia University, M.A. in Administrative Sciences – Yale
University. A.B. Mathematics – Ateneo de Manila University) has spent
the last 30 years of his life studying the nexus between science and faith
since beginning his faith journey in 1994. After teaching and doing
research work at Columbia University, Manhattan College, Rutgers
University, he retired as a tenured professor after his stint at the Baruch
School of Business of the City University of New York.
He returned home to the Philippines in 1992 and has since served twice
in the government of the Republic of the Philippines as Senior Deputy
Adminstrator at Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and as
President of National Home Mortgage Finance Corp. He also served in
the private sector as President of ISI Computer Services, a partnership of
Itochu Corp., IBM and Software Ventures Inc. He has also been
operating in the NGO world since 2000 to the present, advising mayors
and congressmen on housing and land tenure projects as well as
providing assistance to informal settlers to help them attain security of
tenure within properties they occupied illegally.
He is now planning to publish a series of books to share his newly
acquired appreciation about the growing harmony and concordance
between the Christian faith and new science discoveries being made of
the last century, and discussing why they are not being given the proper
exposure to the general public.
