           The National Memorial Arboretum

           Annual Commemoration Service

By Major (Retired) Joseph Bright MBE

A warm July day greeted the
           160 members of the Corps

           taking part in the annual
           Commemoration Service
           at the National Memorial
           Arboretum.

           The Parade and Service

Members of the Corps from all branches
came together to commemorate those who
had served in peace and on operations.
The weather was kind to us as we gathered
for the short parade and commemoration
service held at the AGC Plot. Led by the
Band of the Royal Signals, the parade
marched proudly to the AGC Plot and took
their place around the memorial stone.
The sight of an Army Band and marching
soldiers always attracts a crowd and this
day was no different, with many visitors to
the Arboretum taking time from their visit
to watch our parade and service.
During the service, wreaths were laid
and we remembered those who had gone
           before us.

           Lunch

At the conclusion of the service, the parade
marched back from the AGC Plot and
everyone enjoyed a buffet lunch, renewing
           acquaintances and meeting new friends.
