Who is Utility Management Services?

What is a utility bill audit?

A utility bill audit is a comprehensive historical billing review of your electric and/or natural gas accounts.
UMS analysts use our proprietary software, Ratemaster, to help identify overcharges and billing errors on each of your accounts. On
your behalf, we will work directly with the power provider to secure any refunds or credits you are due. We will also analyze your
accounts to determine the most cost-effective rate and rider combinations available. This can result in significant ongoing savings with
no change in operations or out-of-pocket costs. Our team will continually monitor each account to ensure that your facility is on the
best plan for your particular usage.

Why can’t I just do this myself?

Most power providers offer more than 30 different rate and rider options for commerical and industrial customers. Per their published
rules and regulations, it is the customer’s responsibility to identify billing or metering errors, as well as determine the best rate/rider
combination for their operations.
Being able to decipher complex rates, riders and optional line items to determine the correct combination is challenging.
Our customers trust our expertise and have full confidence in us to find the most advantageous option for their accounts.

What do I need to do to have UMS perform an audit?

We will need an appropriate signature on the UMS data release and service agreement to conduct an off-site audit and analysis of your
account(s). We will also need one recent bill copy for each of your electric and/or gas accounts and a letter of authorization to access
your usage data.
With this information, we will be able to obtain your historical data directly from the provider and perform the audit and analysis
without your involvement.

How is UMS compensated for its work?

Our policy is to never charge for work that does not result in savings for you. If savings are identified, we are paid a portion of the
savings received. If we are unable to identify savings for your account(s), our service is free - guaranteed.

What if I’ve had an audit done in the past?

Since our service is risk-free, you can only benefit from allowing UMS to verify that you are still on the best plan for your operations.
There are no upfront or out-of-pocket costs; peace of mind is all you will receive if no savings are identified.
