Machine vision applications use two types of sensors to convert photons to electrons for digital processing;
               charge-coupled device (CCD) and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensors. Both

               sensors convert light (photons) into an electrical charge (electrons) using an intricate 2-D array of photo-
               detectors (pixels).

               Imaging sensor technology is used within many manufacturing processes including vision inspection, quality

               control, robotics, wire bonding and down-hole applications. It is also used for object detection, recognition
               and collision avoidance systems in next-generation autonomous vehicles, robotics and drones. In addition,

               machine vision plays a major role in artificial intelligence applications such as facial recognition.
