The image quality of CCD and CMOS sensors is typically affected at temperatures in the 50 to 60ºC range
               depending on the quality of the sensor. In most cases, passive cooling solutions are insufficient because

               cooling will be at best slightly above ambient.  However, active cooling can cool below ambient and keep the
               sensor below its maximum operating temperature limit.






               Thermoelectric coolers utilize the Peltier effect to create a temperature differential (ΔT) to transfer heat from
               one side of the sensor to the other.
