Juliann James, Vice Principal Volume 17, Issue 5
Dear Parents and Guardians:
You recently received an administrative news blast informing our Saint Joseph community of our
plans to bring our middle school students back in full time five days a week. We are very excited to have
all our students back together once again experiencing our community as one body.
We all know and believe that in person instruction is the best learning environment for the children.
Will it create new challenges? YES, but not anything that our amazing staff can not handle.
I wish to first thank our parents and students for their understanding and patience in bringing
students back gradually. Secondly, I want to thank our staff for the phenomenal job they have performed
since the beginning of this pandemic. They are the most resilient, resourceful, reliable, caring, and
dedicated people I know. I hope that you and your children feel as blessed as I do to have them on this
journey with us.
I am providing again, the new regulations we will be following going forward regarding zooming
and absenteeism.
Virtual ZOOM is only available for students who are ALL VIRTUAL or must be on quarantine for the
required period of time as established by the school nurse.
Teachers will only provide their zoom link to ALL Virtual students.
When informed of students on quarantine, teachers will share the link with those students as needed.
Teachers will not admit students into the Zoom rooms for day to day absences.
We will now follow the regular absence policy as stated in the Parent/Student handbook
Call the office to report a student absence.
Students absent for a day or two will receive their missed work when they return to class.
Work will not be given in advance for absence or vacation.
Contact the nurse for reporting exposure or testing positive to COVID. The school nurse will advise
teachers of those on quarantine and the date of reentry.
All safety protocols as stated in September will remain in place.
We ask that you please contact Ms. James, Vice Principal by Wednesday, February 24th if
your child will be ALL VIRTUAL by email at jjames@stjoeschooltr.org .
The Season of Lent is quickly approaching. The students will receive ashes on Ash Wednesday
and will participate in the Stations of the Cross on Fridays via livestream or video into the classrooms.
Mite boxes for support of the missions will be coming home with your child. Service to others and the
lesson of giving back to those in need is a main focus of our mission to teach Catholic values at SJGS.
Wishing you continued good health.
God bless and be safe,
Mrs. Kinloch
