MASONIC CAREER AND ACHIEVEMENTS
 DISTRICT GRAND MASTER
In 2019, I successfully applied for the role of District Grand Master for Kapiti Wellington. Whilst this has not been the term that any of us anticipated or desired it has created alternative opportunities and challenges. During my term I have achieved the following:
ACHIEVEMENTS AS DISTRICT GRAND MASTER
Created devolved District Team responsibilities, giving each member of the Team responsibility for their own lodges and two others. This was a developmental opportunity for those members of the team, allowed me to have a better overview of the individual lodges and created a better relationship between Lodges and Grand Lodge.
L’Arche: Led and delivered a District charity project for
L’Arche involving the purchase of a vehicle and in the process contributed to a change of policy for the Charity. This has given L’Arche the ability to transport disabled members throughout the region combined with a mobile advert for Freemasonry that will be visible in the community for years to come.
DCM: Supported and profiled a District charity project that resulted in the housing of 50 homeless people during the first lockdown (DCM).
Birthright: Led a District project that provided a camp for 70 single-parent families and an additional IT refresh for their charity offices (Birthright).
LNI: Identified that there were potential issues with the
project surrounding our new Hutt Road building. I consulted with various stakeholder groups to ascertain the status of
the project. As a result of my intervention, it became clear
that the project was compromised. This empowered the influential groups to drive a positive change, resulting in a proper plan and a board that is now aligned with the principles of Freemasonry. Without this initial identification and intervention, it is my belief that this project would not be on the positive trajectory that it is currently enjoying.
