               Three-Strand Twisted Rope

Technique is important to preserve splice strength, even with basic three-strand

rope, which is sold in sizes ranging from ⅛ inches (3 to 50 mm) in diameter.
               EYE SPLICE

This is the most common splice.
Take care that the tucks lie neatly, and that you

complete at least three or four rounds of tucks
(the Cordage Institute recommends a minimum of
four rounds of tucks for all splices in three-strand).
