Cut the ends off close, seal or melt the ends of synthetic rope with a hot knife
or match, and remove the tape.
DECORATIVE EYE SPLICE
The decorative knot set at the neck of this dressed-up version of the Eye
Splice does not affect its strength, but you should position the knot to
avoid chafing when the splice is in use.
