Our Winter Designated Specialty was held on
Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the beautiful, yet chilly
Empire Polo Grounds in conjunction with the KC
of Palm Springs show. This year, not only did the
Chows draw a terrific entry, but the all-breed show
attracted over 3300 entries – one of the largest shows
on the West Coast!
We first would like to thank all the exhibitors who
traveled to So Cal from Florida, Kansas, Texas,
Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and
Nevada, as well as from our sister club in Northern
California! True to our theme, the Chows were
definitely kickin’ it on historic Route 66!
Sweepstakes Judge was professional handler and
former Chow handler, Mr. Stephen Cabral. Mr.
Cabral selected a lovely black bitch from the 6 – 9
month puppy class, Fuhriman’s Ain’t Misbehavin’
bred and owned by Jerry Fuhriman. Best Opposite
in Sweepstakes was Padow Prince Leo Brave As A
Lion from the 12 – 18 Month Puppy Dog Class, Bred
by Kurt Williams and owned by Cindy Ratzloff. Best
Veteran in Sweepstakes went to our very own GCH
Flamingstar Busy Doin’ Nothin’, bred by Cathy Clapp
and owned by Bruce & Pam Gilevich.
Our regular class judge was Mr. George Milutinovich Gary! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to
from Fresno, CA. Mr. Milutinovich selected the

After the show, it was wonderful to enjoy a hot lunch
of barbeque brisket and beans expertly prepared
by friends Richard & Cindy Wyett, along with all
the fixings provided by CFASC Club members,
coordinated by Hospitality Chairman Vickie Guillen.
Our raffle included many top donated items
including a Microsoft Surface tablet from Bob &
Irene Wilkinson, and many other beautiful baskets
of useful items coordinated by Raffle Chairman Patty
CCCI’s Chow Welfare group.
And finally, no exhibitor walked away empty handed
as our fantastic hospitality bags that were filled to the
brim with dog and people products were handed out
by Hospitality Bag Chairman, Jennette Logmoc.
Thank you to Theresa Sanchez for creating our Best
of Breed & Best Opposite Sex trophies – a Chow
in a convertible sports car on Route 66! We’d also
like to thank all our trophy donors, supporters
and contributors as well as all of our exhibitors
who traveled vast distances, braving unfriendly
weather to participate in our specialty. We look
forward to seeing everyone at our Spring Specialty
on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Pomona, CA. Watch
