BunTLIne hITCh

When you want to anchor a line semi-permanently,
you can tie a clove hitch to the line only backward.
Called a buntline hitch, this locks the working end
tight against the object. Once this knot has tightened,
it can be very difficult to remove.

                  1. Take the working end of the rope around the attachment point
and back across and around the standing part.
