Wadi Araba House

 Year: 2020

 Location: wadi araba, Jordan
 Area: 5000 sqm

 Built up Area: 150 sqm
 Services: Design

 Project Brief

The Wadi Araba region is one of the areas with a large
percentage of desertification, and the architecture in
it was either Bedouin tents or mud houses. We know
that desert areas are known for their high tempera-
tures, so we decided in this project to use clay in the
construction process, as the clay material is known for
its sustainability. The building was designed to pro-
vide a cool interior environment in the summer and
a warm one in the winter. Also, the windcatcher cools
the interior space in the summer while giving a some-
what shy formation with simple windows to prevent
sunlight from penetrating the interior. In addition to
a simple form with vaulted mud, roofs provide the
structural structure For ceilings and avoid the polar-
ization of the largest possible area of sunlight.
