Project Brief

In this rural area, we designed this house in addition to add-

ing an outdoor seating area from the cross vault, Which gave
the design a Roman character with a contemporary formation,

and all the house facilities, including spans and a swimming
pool, were placed on the picturesque view overlooking King

Talal Dam. Sustainability is an essential aspect of our design
process. Therefore we have made internal voids that connect

the ground floor with the first floor, with openings in the roof
ceiling, to create good ventilation for the building, and with the

use of small-sized window openings in the southern facades to
reduce the exposure of sunlight into the interior spaces. The

finishing materials for the walls and ceilings were used from
the site’s sand, white cement, and some facades made of site

stones, as well as the matter for the internal spaces, which re-
duces the use of harmful chemical paints in the environment.
