“This assignment was a crucial step as an architecture student to make the jump into digital
Scanned Image drafting and rendering. Using our semester 1 final studio assignment that was produced manually,
CAD WORK
it was now time to digitise it. From our original A1 sized pdf documents, A3 sized section, floor plans
and elevation were extracted to be use as a reference for our CAD linework. By maintaining the
scale of our original document, a scale of 1:50 CAD drawing were achieved. Adjusting to the
autocad interface didn't take too long as it had sort of the same principles as photoshop, as we
worked with layers too. Finding the right line thickness was a bit tricky as the display on AutoCAD
may not be similar to the product in PDF file. Other than that, learning the shortcut keys helped the
efficiency of work. ”
