“ When I first saw the assignment brief, I was kinda overwhelmed as this is entirely new
experience for me. I actually create my 2D cad drawing using Revit. Instead of working on
2D, I built the whole 3D model based on my floor plan and then use the section tool to cut
in between, producing my section drawing. It was very interesting to see the structure that I
had designed during sem in 3D form and I am glad that the original drawings is almost
similar to the actual model drawings, this indicates that I had the measurements correct.
However the most important part is that I learnt to control the thickness of the cut lines for
walls, floors , roof etc. I would say Revit is a very handy software as it can easily obtain plan,
section and elevation drawings ,and also adding the shadow, bringing depth to the
structure as long as you had created the full model. ”
