7 Reasons You Haven’t Written Your Book
By Tiffany Huff author of 30 Day Stay
www.TiffanyHuffExperience.com
My love affair with words and their transformative power has been almost lifelong. Even still, it took me
36 years to write my first book. If I am completely honest, the reason why it took more than
10 of those
36 years for 30 Day Stay to be written is because it was not the story I wanted to tell.
I want to call out the excuses you’ve dubbed “writer’s block” to give you the push you need to write for
your life.
1.You’re too focused on the outcome
The book inside of you is about the message, it’s about the power of your story, the impact you’ll make
by sharing your truth.
2. You’re afraid
You’ve been allowing fear to consume you and constipate your creativity. people can’t read what you
don’t write, and people can’t buy what isn’t available for sale.
3. You’re unclear on your why
You’ve decided you want to write a book, but you have no idea why you want to write a book. The
desire is simply not enough, you’ve got to start writing.
4. You’re not being authentic
Since I read so much I have been inspired by the stories of so many amazing authors. That said, I had
to tell my story, my way, in my voice. The same is true for you. Your book should be written in your
voice, it should showcase your individual writing styletone and personality
5. You don’t have time?
Well, you’ve convinced yourself you don’t have time. The reality is that if you’re not doing what is
important to you, you’re doing what’s important to you.
6. You don’t believe you can
Doubt kills more dreams than lack of money, time or ability combined! Stop allowing other people’s
lack of support or validation of your dream to be an obstacle - validation is for parking!
7. You’re not writing
Last but certainly not least - you must write! All of the fantasizing about becoming a bestselling author
and making money as an author will remain fantasies if you do not start writing. If you have something
on your mind, you have something to write.
Maybe you struggle with ALL of these, maybe it’s just one or two. Whatever your truth is, today is the day for you to
accept it. It’s not too late for this to be the year you become an author. Start writing.
