Elizabeth Victoria Cronin

                                                  Birth: 1863, Death: 1906


                       “Lizzie” Cronin wrote a letter to her younger brother, Johnnie, on June 27,
                1906 from her home; at 18 Stearns St., Waltham, Massachusetts. At the time
                Johnnie was living in Providence, Rhode Island. After filling him in on the family
                news, she closed the letter with “I hope you are well and working. I guess I must
                now close with best love from all. Remain your loving sister. Lizzie” . Seventeen
                days later, Lizzie, the youngest daughter of Jeremiah J. and the late Julia
                (Murphy) Cronin, died suddenly at home from “general peritonitis brought on by
                appendicitis” at the age of 43.















                             Lizzie’s letter to her younger brother dated 27 June 1906. Seventeen days before she



                       Throughout Lizzie’s life there existed a special relationship with her
                mother and father; her sisters Mary, Hannah, and Katie; her brothers Michael,
                Jerry, and Johnnie. Lizzie was the
                youngest daughter and was loved and
                looked after by her siblings. She was
                respected by all who knew her and
                popular among her friends, class-
                mates, and fellow workers. She was
                well known and admired throughout
                her neighborhood: the Chemistry
                section of Waltham (named after
                the former Newton Chemical Com-
