Lizzie and her siblings worked hard to achieve that “American dream” that
their father and mother had left Ireland to achieve. As time went on and the
family pooled their financial resources, they eventually moved out of the board-
ing house located at 26 Stearns St., and moved into a single family home at 18
Stearns St., Waltham. It was a neighborhood they all found welcoming and one of
which they wanted to remain. It was a close knit neighborhood where many Irish
immigrants felt comfortable.
