Competition (Indirect TDU)
The indirect red thermal desorption unit consists of an inner rota ng barrel enclosed by a hea ng chamber. Contam- inated material is fed into the rota ng barrel, which is indirectly heated by burners in the surrounding hea ng chamber to desorb the contaminants.
In this process, contaminants are freed from the soil, condensed and collected for re-use. The Indirect- red (ITDU) is designed to process oil contaminated materials at rela vely high throughput. The design has been around for many years and is what we would refer to as “conven onal” thermal desorp on technology.
The Iron Creek team has had experience with TDU opera ons and understands the complexi es of their transport, setup, opera ons, and maintenance.
These units are not easily transportable and take more fuel and manpower to operate than Iron Creek’s technologies.
