Jackie Robinson considers architectural plans
For Jackie, his business enterprises were both a financial investment
for a housing development, ca. 1967. in his family’s future as well as a benefit to the African American
Jackie Robinson Museum Collection community. In 1970, Robinson in partnership with three successful
real estate entrepreneurs, formed the Jackie Robinson Construction
Corporation. The aim was both profit for the principals and a long-
term assistance to the black community through the construction of
low- and middle-income housing. The Whitney Young Manor was the
first completed project of the Jackie Robinson Construction Company.
