Jackie Robinson believed strongly in access to
affordable and livable housing. He publicly discussed
equitable housing in his syndicated newspaper column
as early as 1959, even speaking on the issue at the
Federal Civil Rights Commission the same year
(pictured). His passion for equal housing rights
culminated in his founding of the Jackie Robinson
Construction Company in 1970.
