         KEYSTONE EXAMS

        Results and Findings

        Algebra 1

             In 2019, 78.1% of all test-takers at Pine-Richland scored advanced/proficient on the Keystone Algebra 1
Exam. In comparison, 39.9% of test-takers statewide scored advanced/proficient. Of note, is that 53%
of the Pine-Richland students scored at the advanced level, in comparison to 18.9% statewide.

 The percentages of students scoring advanced/proficient increases the earlier the students take the
exams. For example, in 2019, 92.1% of students in grade 8 scored advanced/proficient as compared to
               47.7% in grade 9.

 Trend data indicates that Pine-Richland students in grades 7 or below have consistently scored at 100%
               proficiency.

 Opportunities exist to improve the supplemental instruction and other supports that students who score
below proficiency receive. For example, less than 20% of the students taking the algebra I exam in 10th
and 11th grade scored proficient or advanced.

 The School Profile Report is partially linked to the percentage of students who reach proficiency by the
end of 11th grade. To date, 363 of the current 11th-grade students scored at the proficient or advanced
level on the Keystone Algebra I Exam.

 The 2019 District Value-Added PVAAS data indicates “significant evidence that the district exceeded
the standard for PA Academic Growth” (i.e., dark blue). The 3-year average value-added data is also
               dark blue.

 The 2019 Diagnostic Quintile data demonstrates evidence that every student quintile group met (1) or
exceeded (2 - 5) the growth standard in Algebra I.

        Literature
 In 2019, 84.8% of all test-takers at Pine-Richland scored advanced/proficient on the Keystone Literature
               Exam.

 In 2019, the percentage of students in grade 9 scoring advanced/proficient and taking the exam for the
first time was 90.6%, compared to 89.3% in 2018 and 86.8% in 2017, respectively.

 Although they are different cohorts of students, the percentage of students scoring at the advanced level
has increased in each of the past 4 years.

 Opportunities exist to improve the supplemental instruction and other supports that students who score
below proficiency receive. For example, less than 40% of the students taking the algebra I exam in 10th
and 11th grade scored proficient or advanced.
