estranged from me.” Now, listen carefully

as I read, “My kinsfolk have failed, and my

familiar friends have forgotten me. They
that dwell in mine house, and my maids,
count me for a stranger: I am an alien in
their sight. I called my servant, and he

gave me no answer; I intreated him with my
17
mouth. My breath is strange to my wife,
though I intreated for the children's sake of
mine own body” (Proverbs 19:14-17). In
other words, Job is saying everybody has
forsaken me — my wife, my friends, my
family, my servants, my maids, my kinsfolk.
He's saying all have forsaken me.
I'm just saying to you that there are
times when we'll be standing alone when
