rewards. But Paul said here in verse 17,

“Notwithstanding the Lord stood with

me…” Now, just think about that for a

moment. In other words, the reward for

standing alone is the presence of God, and

there's nothing that can even come close to

being equal to the presence of God.

Do you remember the three Hebrew

children in Daniel 3, verses 24 and 25?

They're put in the fiery furnace, and the king

looks in there. He put three in there. He

knows he put only three in there, but he saw

a fourth in there that is called the Son of

God. Do you remember that? God's presence

was in the fiery furnace heated up, and

when they came out, they didn't even have
