the smell of smoke on them. You can go
into a convenience store and get the smell
of smoke on you, but they didn't even have
the smell of smoke on them. The Lord's
presence was with them. And the apostle
Paul is saying, "I'm alone. Nobody stood
with me. Nobody came to testify. Nobody
came to give a word in my defense,” but
Paul said the Lord was there — and he kind
of thought that was enough.
You've heard me tell this story. I don't
believe in debates, but I did do a debate one
time. In Selma, Alabama, at the Picket
Auditorium on August 1st and 2nd I
debated with another denomination, and I
guess I allowed myself to be provoked into
