“Wilt thou leave thy sins and go to heaven, or
wilt thou have thy sins and go to Hell?” John
Milton says, “Repentance is the golden key that
opens the palace of eternity. The gate of God's
kingdom is closed to those who refuse to repent.”
Then another author, Charles Spurgeon, said,
“Repentance is a change of mind but what a
change it is.”
Many would look at this and say, "Oh,
they're preaching works for salvation." No,
they're not. They're showing the true nature
of repentance and faith. And even Noah
Webster's American Dictionary of the English
Language, 1828, says repentance is “Real
penitence; sorrow, or deep contrition for sin, as
