this holiday — perfectly healthy trees — and

I've got to ask the question as I've asked

many people who oppose me on this. I've

laid the Bible in their lap, and I’ve said, "Give

me one verse in the Bible that shows me that

the Christmas tree has any connection with

the birth of Jesus Christ," and for 35 years, no

one has shown me one verse. Do you know

why? Because it's not there. There's not one

verse that connects the birth of Jesus Christ

with a tree with lights and icicles and all these

things hanging off of it. Yes, they're beautiful,

but there's not one verse that connects that

with the birth of Jesus Christ, and yet it is the

centerpiece of the home at Christmastime.
