And finally I got up and said, "Well, we're
leaving. Bye, bye.” And they were still sitting
there watching the television when we
walked out the door. I hadn't seen them in
a year.
There's no doubt that television shortens
attention span. It affects learning and
reading skills. It is a proven fact that it
affects math skills. A study was done in
1991. Without any doubt, it puts people into
a passive state. Without any doubt it
increases depression. It increases the rate
of suicide. Not only that, it causes people
to not know how to cope with reality. If
people tell me that they're depressed and
they're having mental problems, I ask, "How
