a man of prayer who seemed to cling

tenaciously to God in utter dependence on

God’s help and provision in David’s times of

need. David seemed to understand that God

answers only the prayers of the godly and

the prayers of those who are seeking a

right relationship with God.

Unhindered fellowship with God is essential

in order to experience answers to prayer.

First John 3:22 says, “And whatsoever we

ask, we receive of him, because we keep his

commandments, and do those things that

are pleasing in his sight.” There is without a

doubt a relationship between answered

prayer and a believer’s walk of obedience.

When a believer is living in fellowship with

God, he or she will pray as the Spirit of God

leads, and God’s Holy Spirit will not lead us

to pray contrary to the will of God.
