Answered prayer in a Christian’s life is

confirmation that a Christian is living in

fellowship with God. And God wants us to

experience fullness of joy by answering our

prayers. John 16:24 says, “Hitherto have ye

asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall

receive, that your joy may be full.”

Psalm 5

David had great respect for God and many

times acknowledged God’s attributes even

before he petitioned God with his cares and

concerns. David knew how to worship God

both in prayer and in the sanctuary. When

David acknowledges the holiness and majesty

of God, he seems to be reaffirming in his own

mind his understanding of who he is praying

to and God’s ability to exercise justice

toward wickedness and mercy towards those

who fear Him. Respect for God and an
