God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
Pretty serious warning, isn't it? A lot of people
take this verse and they want to play around
with it and use this verse for getting in and out
and getting in and out and things like that. He's
saying that, once this is committed, it's
impossible to renew them. This is talking about
apostasy, those that came out of Judaism and
now under the New Covenant that say they've
been enlightened, they believe in the Messiah,
and then totally turn their back on that and
those that come out of heathenism as the
Gentiles and worshipping idols and say now
they believe, and then totally turn back to those
idols. That's what this is talking about. This is
not talking about stumbling or making a mistake.
