melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we,
according to his promise, look for new heavens
and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for
such things, be diligent that ye may be found of
him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” So
these things can be done by the grace of God
and His mercy and love to us. God is holy. This
is an attribute that He shares with us, so He
commands you and me throughout the
Scriptures — especially in the New Testament
— to be holy because He is holy.
In Matthew 6:9, the Lord's Prayer, a part of
that prayer says, “Hallowed be thy name.” In
our worship, we are to have reverence and an
awe for God as we approach Him. Even when
we pray, there ought to be a reverence:
“Hallowed be thy name.” So when we study
