says that the Word of God “effectually
worketh also in you that believe.” But like
David, a believer must meditate on God’s
Word day and night — not just on Sundays
and a Wednesday night prayer meeting — in
order to grow spiritually (Psalm 1:2),.
David didn’t question the purity of God’s
Word, nor did he question God’s
righteousness judgments. He was confident
that the Judge of all the earth would judge
righteously — even in his own life and even
if that judgment was a consequence for
David’s own sins. David was concerned even
about presumptuous sins and sins of his
heart. It was David who cried out to God in
Psalm 139:23 & 24, “Search me, O God, and
know my heart: try me, and know my
